Thank you for taking the initiative to fundraise for the victims of the disasters happened in the Philippines. With our network of local partners, and thanks to your generous donations, we have been able to pursue our relief efforts in some of the most isolated and vulnerable villages in need of relief and food, medical and educational aid.
Vol.1 Guimaras Oil Spill (2006)
An oil tanker charterd by Petron which was carring 2.4 milion litres of oil sank off the coast of Guimara on August 2006. The spill has affected many baragays especially in municipality of Nueva Valencia as well as local marine and coastal ecosystems. Fishermen households are deprived of livelihood when a fising ban was declared by the President right after the incident. LOOB extended the four month food assistance, construction of holding house as a cash-for-work program and oil clean-up activites with JPY 1.3 million fund donated by our Japanese partner to help sustain their basic needs.
Vol.2 BANGON JAPAN for Great East Japan Earthquate (2010)
After the Great East Japan Earthquake occured, we gathered more than 400 Filipinos signatures on our prayer banner and these thoughts were delivered to Ogatsu Elementary School on December with the help of partner organization in Sendai. LOOB also conducted many charity events both in Japan and Philippines, and have remitted JPY255,542 by August as a monetary donation to Japanese Red Cross.
Vol.3 Typhoon Hayan/Yolanda (2013)
Typhoon Yolanda was the deadliest Philippine typhoon recorded in modern history, killing at least 6,300 people in that country alone, leaving tens of thousands of farmers and fishermen without any income. We raised the fund and supported norhtern part of Panay Island through the providing releif goods, augment the livelihood and construction of classrooms.
